AQ (Aquil Charlton)

Musician. Multimedia Artist. Social practitioner.

Aquil Charlton (he/him pronouns) uses his imagination and musical talents to engage others in envisioning a more just world. As an electronic musician, he performs live improvisations and collaborates with visual artists to create immersive sonic experiences. Since founding the Mobile Music Box in 2016, Aquil also leads free arts events for the public, including activities like DIY music instrument-making, jam sessions, and beat-making. This is often amplified and expanded upon by activities with fellow artists in the Mobilize Creative Collaborative and Sounds Natural.  A North Kenwood, Chicago resident, Aquil is a teaching artist in his community and father to a young son.
