Join APL on Saturday, June 13th for the third Juneteenth with the Committed Knitters celebration. This event honors Juneteenth—the commemoration of Black freedom, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward liberation—by bringing people together to connect and create. This year, the gathering aligns with World Knit in Public Day, and we are excited to welcome Fiber Friends Studios to the celebration. Together, we’re taking our craft outside to claim space, share skills, and honor history through the shared tradition of making.
This event is open to makers of all experience levels, from seasoned stitchers to total beginners. Whether you want to work on an ongoing project or learn something entirely new, you are welcome here. The space is intended for anyone looking to knit, crochet, and meet fellow makers in the community.
To support the day, we will provide complimentary snacks and drinks, special giveaways from our hosts and partners, and free yarn and needles for anyone who needs them. You don't need to bring supplies or have prior experience to participate. Come solo or bring a friend—we look forward to stitching and connecting with you.
