First Monday Jazz with Felena Bunn

Chicagoian, FELENA BUNN, has been sharing her gift as a professional vocalist and whistler since 1993. She and her band uses influences of Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Pop, R&B, Country and House music to create memorable experiences that tap into a vast range of emotions.

Felena is best known for being the lead vocalist for several local and national bands, singing/whistling and coaching on numerous Grammy winning and nominated studio projects, and providing music for ministries of various faiths. Her musical versatility has opened the door for her to perform in countless international festivals and tours, both as a solo jazz artist, sharing stages with musicians from across the globe and performing as a background vocalist for some well-known Country music artists. Felena has also performed as a background vocalist for the house bands of many popular award shows.

In 2004, Felena received an unexpected diagnosis of kidney failure. This life-style change led her to becoming a job developer and facilitator of youth programs for the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization. Helping others create a better life for themselves has become her greatest passion.

All Arts + Public Life programs at the Green Line Performing Arts Center are presented on a first come, first served basis. Individuals who arrive first will be seated until we reach capacity in the theater. Once we reach capacity, doors will be closed.

Making a reservation on Eventbrite allows APL to track interest. It is not a guarantee you will be seated. To gain entry, please arrive 15-30 minutes prior to event start time. We have limited seating in our theater and will accommodate as many audience members as possible to ensure everyone has a great time while following safety guidelines.
