The Hand That Guides: Conversation with Nathaniel Mary Quinn and Anasatasia Karpova Tinari

  • Green Line Performing Arts Center 329 East Garfield Boulevard Chicago, IL, 60637 United States (map)

Join artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn and exhibition curator Anasatasia Karpova Tinari for a conversation exploring The Hand That Guides, a powerful exhibition that pairs Quinn with his former mentor, Gregory Huebner. Together, their work highlights the transformative role of mentorship, reflection, and human connection in shaping creative practice.

Quinn, celebrated for his emotionally charged, collage-like portraits, debuts a new series of paintings on linen meditating on the “guiding hands” that have influenced his artistic journey. Alongside, Huebner presents his ongoing Ritual series, abstract paintings rooted in decades of philosophical and spiritual study.

This dialogue takes place just before the exhibition opening celebration. Guests are invited to continue the evening by walking to the Arts Incubator to experience the exhibition firsthand.
