Greg Bray is a Chicago-based painter that explores the cognitive nature of form through the manipulation of improvisational marks, fragmentation, as well as color and variables within prosthetic applications of found objects on paper and canvas. Through the method of continuation, he produces subjective and perceptually distinct hybrid visual responses to his process, allowing for adaptive materials and structural complexity to actualize relative time, place, memory & speculation as new imagery. His illustrious career includes awards and residency recognition from many celebrated arts organizations, including but not limited to Standard Oil Collection, Pollack-Krasner, Chappell, Adolph & Esther Gottlieb, Change, and the Artist Fellowship, etc.
