2020 Artist-in-Residence Virtual Exhibition
Aug 21 - Sept 25, 2020
Arts + Public Life (APL) and the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture (CSRPC) are proud to present projects by their 2019/2020 Artists-in-Residence. This virtual exhibition features new works, current projects, and interviews with artists Delano Dunn, Benjamin LaMar Gay, and Anna Martine Whitehead.
This year, our annual exhibition is no longer a culmination, but an opportunity to share works in progress. The pandemic and the uprising (and ongoing struggle) for racial justice has resulted in a transformed residency program for our artists. APL and CSRPC have continued to work with, and amplify the work of these three artists in addition to dozens of other local artists, through virtual programs since March.
This exhibition is intended for viewers to be able to intimately engage with each art work, as well as hear directly from the artists about work they are currently making and planning to create in the future. All three artists invite us to engage, reflect and confront the world around us.
